Description:D-biotin (5 x 25 g) by HiMedia Laboratories is water soluble vitamin belongs ti the B-complex group of vitamins , It is an essential micronutrient required for normal cell functions and can be obtained both dietary sources as well as gut microbiota. It is generally used as as a covalently-bound coenzyme for several carboxylases, in cell culture media is used for its involvement in a number of cellular processes including gluconeogenesis, synthesis of fatty acids, and amino acids isoleucine and valine. This vitamin is also used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of Biotin deficiency, Vitamin B deficiency, Biotidinase deficiency, Holocarboxylase deficiency.Only D-biotin, occurs naturally and has full vitamin activity . This vitamin can only be synthesized by some strains of bacteria, mold, yeast, algae, and by certain plant species.

Properties:Biotin conjugates can be detected by horseradish peroxidase, alkaline phosphatase substrates or anti biotin conjugated antibodies. Avidin and Streptavidin bind to the small biotin and are couple to HRP or AP for ELISA. To break the streptavidin Biotin bond we suggest to use a 6 molar guanidine HCl solution with acidity of pH 1.6.
