Scientific context:Fibronectin is a glycoprotein present in a soluble dimeric form in plasma, and in a dimeric or multimeric form at the cell surface and in extracellular matrix. Fibronectin is involved in cell adhesion and migration processes including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis. It occurs as dimer of two 200 kDa subunits. Fibronectin has binding domains for bacterial proteins, collagens, heparin-like molecules and fibrin. Cellular fibronectin is widely distributed in the stroma of malignant tumours.
Notes:affinity purified IgY on human fibronectin agarose
Protein number:P02751
TAIR number:Refer to NCBI
Properties:Biotin conjugates can be detected by horseradish peroxidase, alkaline phosphatase substrates or anti biotin conjugated antibodies. Avidin and Streptavidin bind to the small biotin and are couple to HRP or AP for ELISA. To break the streptavidin Biotin bond we suggest to use a 6 molar guanidine HCl solution with acidity of pH 1.6.
